Polianthes tuberosa is a night blooming perennial plant whose flowers are used in perfumery. The name is derived from the Greek word ‘Polianthes’ meaning ‘many flowers’ and Latin term tuberosa meaning ‘swollen’. In India, the flower of this plant is known as ‘Rajnigandha’.
