This summer, as the temperature begins to soar, get yourself some fresh strawberries and make these refreshing popsicles. They are mildly sweetened with honey and are completely natural. Play around with several combinations of strawberries and fruit. Add a splash of lime or a few leaves of mint, or any flavour-enhancer of your choice. There are endless combinations of fruits that you could try. Have fun experimenting!

Here are two recipes that you can try this summer:

Strawberry-Watermelon

(makes 4 popsicles)

  • 250-gram strawberries (cleaned and hulled)
  • 2 cups of cubed watermelon
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 1/3 cup honey

Finely blend together the strawberries, watermelon, lime juice and honey in a blender. Pour the juice into popsicle moulds and let the popsicles set in the freezer for at least 5 hours.

Strawberry popsicles

Strawberry-Cherry

(makes 4 popsicles)

  • 250 grams strawberries
  • 1 cup pitted cherries (use fresh or frozen cherries)
  • ½ cup Greek yoghurt
  • 3 cups honey

Blend the strawberries, cherries, Greek yoghurt and honey in a blender, until it is finely blended. Pour the mixture into popsicle moulds and let the popsicles set in the freezer for at least 5 hours.

Tip: To unmould, let the popsicle moulds sit in a glass of warm water for a few seconds. They will come out easily.
