The big change – Switzerland

I had decided to take a career break when my first daughter was born. It was like a dream when my husband was offered a role in Switzerland. Life as a stay-at-home mom to a 7-month-old baby was very different from life back home. Though I missed being at work, I thoroughly enjoyed the new mom role and took a step back from the previous busy life I was used to.

Beyond the home front

After a couple of years of living in this picturesque land, I felt that my passion for creative web designing was being ignored.  This was something I had to deal with. Soon I started channelling my professional energy by providing freelance web-designing services.

A trained Carnatic singer, I decided to teach singing to kids and adults. In 2015, I started ‘Dhwani. I am happy to state that my students have been performing at various local events now.

In my free time, I love to paint and spend time with my husband and 2 beautiful daughters.

Namaste Switzerland

‘Namaste Switzerland’ has been a big step towards getting back to doing what I truly love – creative designing. I missed being in the professional work environment and I am truly blessed to be part of this team. The agendas, the team meetings, and the organized method of working bring back nostalgic memories.

I would like ‘Namaste Switzerland’ to be the eyes, ears and voices for all Indians across Switzerland, non-Indians in Switzerland interested in Indian culture, and Indians all over the world interested in Switzerland.

Flexible work hours, discussing and implementing great ideas, seeing the response that ‘Namaste Switzerland’ is receiving is a big motivator; but my biggest motivator is family, especially my husband, who has never let me settle down in my “comfortable” homemaker role. He constantly reminded me that I must use my education, experience and talents in the best possible way. With ‘Namaste Switzerland’, I feel I am doing just that.
