Matter-of-Fact of the week #53:
Jungfrau is the highest of the three majestic peaks in the Bernese Alps. The other two are Eiger and Mönch. The peak was first reached by the Meyer Brothers from Aarau in the company of two chamois hunters from Valais. The name Jungfrau is the German word for ‘maiden’ or ‘virgin’.
