The Indian biochemist Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow discovered the anti-cancer drug Methotrexate, one of the first anti-cancer drugs used in chemotherapy. Among his other achievements, he co-discovered the function of ATP in muscular activity and developed a method to synthesise folic acid.
