Fribourg or should we call it Freiburg, one of the few bilingual cantons (French and German) in Switzerland. It was founded in 1157 by Duke Berthold IV, Duke of Zähringen. It has been an early Swiss canton since 1481 and was part of the Thirteen-Cantons Confederation.
