As the seasons change, we take you from sun-dappled August into the golden hues of September. As we welcome Autumn, let’s walk into the season of ‘Fall’, and enjoy the nip in the air. This month, we cover a range of topics – from notable dance and political personalities to a trip to a pumpkin farm to an exciting new legal column – there’s a lot brewing this Autumn!

In this issue:

Read about Niklaus Samuel Gugger aka ‘Nik’, who has created history in Swiss politics by becoming the only member of the Swiss Parliament who is originally a first-generation Indian. Manasa Mukka and Keerthana Nagarajan interviewed him to know more about his fascinating life.

Keerthana Nagarajan also talks to noted Bharatanatyam dancer Aparna Raghavan about her passion for performing arts and over three decades of life in Switzerland.

Sowgandhika Krishnan tells us about the art of ‘Thumri’ in Kathak, and gives us an insight into how Pali Chandra, one of the present-day exponents of the Lucknow Gharana, has kept the art of Thumri alive.

One of the main challenges about being in Switzerland is to be able to accurately understand the laws and legal requirements of how things work around here. To address our readers’ legal queries, we have a new column on its way! Aradhna Sethi interviews Isabelle Thouvenin who will be handling your legal queries and more.

Our in-house illustrator Sharanya Mageshwaran shares some interesting ideas on art using paper clippings and old photographs.

Chetana Parameswar, visited Jucker Farm’s newest outlet at Römerhof in Kloten. She tells us more about her day trip and shares her recipe cards for making pumpkin ice-cream and pumpkin chocolate chip bread.

Our Contributor Samvidha Srinath, shares her story of being home-schooled, much before the advent of Covid19.

Take our monthly interactive quiz, created exclusively for our readers, by Qwizzeria.

And last but not the least – ‘Your Voice Matters’ – a survey meant for our readers, that will help us shape our content for the next several months. Please take the survey and let us know your feedback, so that we can give you the content you need!

So sit back, and enjoy the new season with Namaste Switzerland’s September issue.
