Glance around and take in the rust and gold hues of the last vestiges of Autumn!

Diwali has just gone by, but the mood of celebration lingers on, lending us all that happy glow that this festival of lights leaves in its wake. The season of Autumn brings with it a palpable magical feeling that makes you want to pause and reflect, almost in anticipation of the long winter to come. As the clock turns back, we bid farewell to the summer, enjoy the colours of autumn and are all set now to welcome the winter of 2021. We hope you’ve had a good season of festivities and look forward to a restful and cozy winter.

This month, we bring you:

A review of the Swiss Natya Sabha‘s first symposium which was held on September 18, 2021. Mohana Ramamoorthy tells us more about the SNS and the events of the day – with many eminent Swiss-based dance personalities giving presentations and performances across various classical dance forms.

Chetana Parameswar shares her nostalgia along with that warm waft of ‘Heisse Marroni’, in the form of a recipe for a no-bake chestnut cake.

Children will now start preparing for the Gymi-Pruefung. And French isn’t easy to crack in the German-speaking part of the country. With the lack of proper training in school, (with the focus being more on German and Math) students often look for coaching classes. Samvidha Srinath shares a few tips and tricks that one could use while preparing French Gymi Prüfung.

In our monthly column, Qwizzeria runs an interactive quiz that tests our knowledge of facts. How many can you get right?

In Young Voices this month, we have Hasini Natarjan introducing us to the characters of Luv and Kush from the epic Sanskrit poem, Ramayana. Adrita Sanyal tells us about her holiday in Italy – as the days turn cold, it’s nice to think of the warm feel of sunshine on our skins, isn’t it? Archisha and Samanvay Ray write about Halloween, Räbeliechtli and Diwali while Ishaan Parameshwar continues his serialized story about the adventures of Grimcodile. Itee Balajee writes a review of the movie, ‘The Descendants’ while Shivee Balajee has created a quiz about ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, one of Roald Dahl’s most well-loved stories.
