Lucy Walker was a British climber and a mountaineer who has the title of being the woman to climb the Matterhorn. She climbed in 1871 after hearing that her rival the American, Meta Brevoort, was planning the ascent to Matterhorn. Walker was quick to assemble a team and reached on the top first few days before Brevoort could manage.
