The Brunswick monument was built in 18979 in Geneva to commemorate Charles II, Duke of Brunswick (Braunschweig). He funded this project and bequeathed his fortune to Geneva in exchange for the monument to be built in his name, easy right. As per the design, he specifically asked them to replicate the Scaliger Tombs in Verona, Italy.
