Diwali is here! It’s time to celebrate the festival of lights decorating our homes with diyas, colourful rangolis and making some delicious desi sweets. We’ve earlier shared a super easy DIY on how to dress up the string lights that you can make with things lying around at home. You can also learn how to make your own Diyas and agarbati holders. We also have a Diwali mithai recipe, that can be made with locally available ingredients and takes very little effort and time.

Here’s another DIY for you to try this festive season. Our guest contributor Jeyanthi Senthilrajan, shows us how to make a lotus candle holder.

Materials needed for Candle holder for DiwaliMaterials needed

  1. Ikea candle holder
  2. Plastic spoons
  3. Hot glue gun
  4. Metallic spray paint

 

 

 

Method

Step 1: Cut the spoon on the neck to use them as petals.

Step 2: Spray the cut spoon petals with metallic spray paint on both sides and let it dry.

Step 3: Use the hot glue and paste the spoons around the candle holder to form one round of petals.

Step 4: Leave it to dry. This should take only a few minutes.

Step 5: Repeat step 3 for another round of petals placed symmetrically in between.

Once everything has dried well you are ready to place candles in them. You could try different shades of metallic spray to make it more colourful. Do try out this easy DIY decoration this Diwali!
